Behind the scenes documentation
Golden room 2020
senior Capstone project
The Golden Room is an immersive interactive space, with three walls projection-mapped with visual content. Everything in the room is interactive, encouraging the viewer to explore the space. A Kinect sensor is used to generate location data. This data is controlling visuals, lighting, and audio. TouchDesigner is interpreting the raw Kinect data, sending it via OSC to Notch and VCV Rack. Notch is generating real-time visual content, outputting to three projectors; one per wall. The LED lighting is handled directly in TouchDesigner, using DMX to interface the hardware. VCV Rack is a modular synthesis program that generates audio, in accordance to the viewers location in the room.
