Coffee Shop Experiential Design

For this project, I made interactive video elements for the coffee shop Botanica. These assets are made for projection in the store, to enhance the interior space with experiential design features.

Equipment: Notch, TouchDesigner, C4D, Adobe Illustrator, Camera

–Leaf Logo

Using the brands existing logo and creating something with subtle movement.

–Leaf Logo System Design

The design was brought to life in TouchDesigner, by creating slow looping movements of 3D geometry, making up the logo.

–Interactive Leaves

Interactive falling leafs are the main visual element for projection. These would be projected onto a larger wall inside the store. When a customer would come up to the register, the leafs are affected and sway with their movement.

–Leaves System Design

The interaction is driven by a camera, which influences geometry inside of Notch. The image from the camera is processed in TouchDesigner, where it is translated into luma data, and sent to Notch via OSC protocol. Inside Notch, the leaves are running in a loop, and are affected by the camera’s input.

–Projection Tests

Initial projection tests to evaluate color, contrast, etc. of the renders.
